Treyarch Now Focused On Call Of Duty

Studio head Mark Lamia says it's 'now a 100 per cent Call of Duty studio'.

In an interview with CVG
, Lamia said his studio, currently completing Call Of Duty: Black Ops, has been focused on COD "for a long time now, long before any of [the Infinity Ward] events occurred."

"We focused all of our efforts on creating the best Call Of Duty game we possibly can and what that meant is not working on anything else. We are a multiple team studio and focusing on Call Of Duty and Call Of Duty gameplay meant focusing all of our teams on that."

It means, Lamia says, that Treyarch now has a dedicated multiplayer team.

The Santa Monica-based Activision subsidiary made its name making spin-off games from the Spider-Man films, before making Call of Duty 2: Big Red One in 2005, Call Of Duty 3 in 2006 and Call Of Duty: World At War in 2008. Its last non-COD games were 2007's Spider-Man 3 and 2008's Quantum Of Solace, which used COD4's engine.
